Welcome to Access Wear
Clothing designed with the dialysis
patient's comfort in mind
Created by two dialysis nurses as a response to their dialysis
patient complaints of being cold during their hemodialysis treatment,
Accesswear was designed to minimize patient exposure and provide
warmth and comfort. Zippers are strategically placed in heavyweight
cotton and polyester sweatshirts, sweatpants and fleece jackets to
afford dialysis patients and their nurses ease in accessing the arteriovenous
fistula, graft or permcatheter used during hemodialysis.
By simply
unzippering the washable and durable zipper, only the necessary area is exposed
making it convenient for dialysis to get underway. Patients are happy and
their nurses are happy. At the end of treatment, close the zipper
and you are suitably dressed to go about your day without looking
like you have on medically adapted clothing. This product is a high
quality, washable and fashionable garment which is warm and comfortable.
It is also a great gift for a friend or family member on dialysis.
The products currently available through AccessWear include
sweatshirts, sweatpants and fleece jackets.
The 50% cotton and 50%
polyester sweatshirts have molded plastic zippers which can be
located in either the right or left arm, shoulder to cuff to make
